Football Finals 2009 Monday, August 31, 2009

The 2009 Five-a-Side Football Tournament culminated on Sunday 30 August with Grand Finals Day in Clyde Crescent and the presentation of awards.  Russell Milton, former Cheltenham Town player, presented the trophies.  Although the skies were grey throughout the day, the threatened rain held off.  John Hunt and all the volunteers did a splendid job throughout the summer holidays organising the Tournament.  Thanks are due to Cheltenham Borough Council and all sponsors and supporters who contributed towards the success of the event.

At the end of the afternoon a special award was presented by the Revd. Robert Pestell, Chair of Oakley Regeneration Partnership, to Claude Bullingham for his service to the community over many years.  Claude was responsible for establishing the annual summer Football Tournament ten years ago.
